This is how it works…

Select type of cask, number of caskshares and recipes of distillate. Currently we offer the following kind of casks:

• Brand new oak barrels of Swedish oak

These barrels are made by the cooper, Thorslund Kagge from Högsjö in Sweden.
No beverage has been previously stored in these barrels. Generally these casks gices the whisky a complex character, with peppery tones accompanied by wood tones similar to the Swedish forests,.

• Ex oloroso Sherry barrels

These barrels are made from a small family business on the Mediterranean coast in southern Spain. Oloroso means fragrant. The barrels have previously held Oloroso sherry and generally they give a character of dried fruit, raisins and chocolate tones, to the whisky.

• Brand new barrels of Hungarian oak

These barrels are delivered by cooper, Thorslund Kagge from Högsjö in Sweden. These barrels will generally provide a pleasant spicy character balanced by clear sweetness. All of the barrel will be filled with 48 liters of distillate/newmake. You can choose to buy the entire barrel or parts of a whole barrel according to following: ½ of a whole barrel, ¼ of a whole barrel, 1/8 of a whole barrel. One 1/8 share gives approx 6 liters of whisky/12 50 cl bottles.

Filling your cask

When you made the choice of barreltype it is time to fill your cask or share of a cask with our unique distillate/newmake. You and your friends are welcome to participate when we fill the cask at our destilleri warehouse in Sweden and we recommend it highly. The barrel is placed in one of our warehouses in the deep forests in the county Värmland in Sweden. Here the distillate starts its development towards completion of whisky.

Tasting

To follow maturation development of your distillate you have the ability to get tastsamples from your cask. We recommend that you taste your prewhisky or whisky every year to follow the development in a good way. Bring some friends to us or to any fair in which we participate and evaluate your tastesample during convivial forms, perhaps in combination with some other activity we can offer to optimize the experience.

We can also send sampels to Germany in cooperation with our partner, Skandinavischer Whisky in Bremen.

Bottling

When your destillate/cask has been matured for at least three years and you are happy with the character you inform us that you want to bottle your whisky and you can soon enjoy your own unique single cask whisky. We recommend that storage takes place between three to five years in our barrels, but each cask is unique. We will help you with final tasting of the whisky and recommendations when to bottle it.. Bottling normally takes place at caskstrength but if you want your whisky bottled with a lower alcohol strength, but not less than 46% to avoid chillfiltering, we will arrange it. In conjunction with bottling, you also get the opportunity to design parts of the labels on the bottles.

Other experiences

We want that you and your friends will have the opportunity to experience many pleasant experiences while the content of your cask is maturing and developing. We are equally committed to that both your cask content and you yourself are developing in the perspective of whisky terms.
